The Farm Bill

The Farm Bill is proposed to provide $7.5B ($7,500,000,000) for U.S. agriculture and nutrition systems in the next 5 years.  It is hugely important to our local communities.  The debate over entities that receive these funds is contentious.  National legislators need to hear from the U.S. citizens about where and how this taxpayer money should be spent.  The following local groups provide the guidance you need to get started and stay engaged.  Please advocate for a better farm bill that supports a change to the current unsustainable agricultural system!

Farm Action envisions a fair, inclusive, and competitive Food and agriculture system that respects our land, natural resources, and neighbors around the world.  Based in Moberly, Missouri, Farm Action is closely following the Farm Bill and providing the information we citizens need to help get a better bill passed.

Fair Farm Bill

Farm Action has zeroed in on four pillars of change in the new farm bill. Major shifts in policy within these four categories would mean we've finally broken the Bi Ag-friendly mold of the past.

The Four Pillars of a Fair Farm Bill: 1) Food, Not Feed, 2) Justice for All, 3) Build Local, Eat Local, and 4) Conservation and Regeneration
