MCNA Submits Public Comment on Wastewater Biosolids Land Application

Reed Environmental LLC requested a permit to land apply Wastewater Treatment Plant wastes, known as BIOSOLIDS, in Vernon and Barton counties. MCNA submitted a Public Comment to the Missouri Department of Natural Resources on March 25, 2024 about this situation. Especially concerning to MCNA is the area selected for land application already has impaired waters. Additional wastes applied in this "wasteshed" could aggravate the already damaged waterways.

This bill proposes to remove "non-point source pollution" from the definition of "water contaminant source" in the Missouri Clean Water Law.
